What is New Media?

Having taken a course this semester on new media, I can actually give a general description as to what it is. New media is more interactive media. Thing like information on the internet can be edited by anybody who wants to change it. The way we receive our news can be received so we get the news that directly pertains to us via sites like Facebook and Myspace. People can live other lives outside of their own virtually and be who they want to be. Interactivity is the core focus of new media.
